How We Make Money

We believe in full financial transparency. Here is exactly how FinWise Hub generates revenue.

Last updated: April 2026

Our Core Commitment

Our revenue model never influences our editorial decisions. Advertisers cannot buy positive reviews, affiliate partners cannot inflate our rankings, and no company can pay to have negative information suppressed. Our recommendations are based solely on merit.

1. Display Advertising (Google AdSense)

FinWise Hub displays advertisements on our website through Google AdSense and potentially other advertising networks. These are the banner and display ads you see throughout our pages.

How it works: Advertisers bid to show their ads to our readers via automated auction systems. We receive a portion of the revenue when ads are displayed or clicked. The specific advertisers shown are largely determined by Google's algorithms based on your browsing interests and our content topics.

Impact on our content: Advertisers shown through Google AdSense have no direct relationship with our editorial team and no ability to influence our content. The ads are automated and contextual.

2. Affiliate Links

Some articles on FinWise Hub contain affiliate links — links to financial products or services where we may earn a commission if you click through and sign up or make a purchase. These commissions come at no additional cost to you.

Examples of affiliate partnerships may include:

  • Online brokerage accounts (e.g., Fidelity, Charles Schwab, Interactive Brokers)
  • Robo-advisors (e.g., Betterment, Wealthfront)
  • Insurance comparison platforms
  • Credit card comparison tools
  • Cryptocurrency exchanges
  • Personal finance apps and tools

Affiliate disclosure: In accordance with FTC guidelines, we clearly label affiliate content where applicable. Earning a commission from a product does not mean we recommend it — we only link to products we believe provide genuine value. Products and services that do not affiliate with us can still receive top ratings if they merit it.

How affiliate commissions affect our rankings: They don't. Our ratings, comparison scores, and editorial recommendations are determined independently by our editorial team based on objective criteria including fees, features, customer service, and regulatory standing. A product offering a higher affiliate commission does not receive a higher rating.

3. Sponsored Content (Clearly Labeled)

Occasionally, FinWise Hub may publish sponsored content — articles or guides that are funded by a company or brand. All sponsored content is:

  • Clearly labeled as "Sponsored" or "Partner Content" at the top of the article
  • Still subject to our factual accuracy and editorial quality standards
  • Distinguishable from our independent editorial content

Sponsored content represents the views and information provided by the sponsor and is identified as such. We do not publish sponsored content that makes claims we believe to be false or misleading.

4. What We Do NOT Do

Sell or trade our readers' personal data

Accept payment for positive reviews

Allow advertisers to edit or approve our content

Inflate rankings based on affiliate commission rates

Publish misleading or deceptive advertising

Remove negative information for commercial reasons

5. Our Revenue Supports Free Content

All revenue generated by FinWise Hub — through advertising, affiliate partnerships, and sponsorships — is used to fund the production of high-quality, free personal finance content for our readers.

We believe that quality financial education should be accessible to everyone, not just those who can afford to pay for it. Our revenue model allows us to provide comprehensive guides, research, and analysis at no cost to our readers.
